With BEE, She’s Got Game
Patience Bogatsu is the first black woman to qualify as a game tracker and bush guide. She’s in line to manage the Madikwe Game Reserve where she now works. The Financial Times’ Alec Russell credits a successful black economic empowerment programme. It’s also a boon for visitors:
A stint with her, rolling through Madikwe’s rugged landscape not only provides the bush lore – and escapist skills – one would expect from a ranger, but also the local African history and myths that few if any white guides could expect to know or would think to impart.
