Ovation for “Migration”

The New York Times’ Celia Dugger raves, justifiably, about “Songs of Migration”, the cabaret-style show that has just finished a wildly successful run at Johannesburg’s Market Theatre. Anchored by jazz great Hugh Masekala, the show features music that goes to the core of South Africa’s soul. Read Celia’s wonderful piece here.  The picture above I took when Masekela was playing in Washington at an event hosted by South Africa’s then ambassador, his sister Barbara.
