Go for green, in the shopping mall, well done Canal Walk..

Going green is all the rage and this is great. What really excited me a few days ago, was an unexpected pop in to Century City and oh my how quickly things change. The Look and Listen store has had a make over, there is a new Apple store (I love apples) and the food court is looking great.

What caught my attention though, was not the green of the Global Wraps wall :), but the recycling bins in the food court. It is inspiring to see that one of the largest shopping malls in South Africa is contributing to the going green campaign by more than just talking about it.

The company I work for has also recently embarked on a “green” campaign and it really is easy. All you need is some bins to separate your items into plastic, paper, glass and metal …. and Bob is your uncle (okay, he may not really be, but you know what I mean).

My contributions include switching off lights when not in use, turning off plugs when leaving home and cooking less (okay, this is more about me than the environment – giggle) .

So, join the cause and make your contribution, even if this means pausing to decide which bin to use post lunch fest at the Canal Walk food court, please remember that every little bit helps.

Going green, because green is more than my favorite colour.
